Super Cheap WiFi Extender

If you're just a little too far away from your wireless router to get reception, you may want to look into building a really cheap wifi extender. How cheap? some cardboard, tape and aluminum foil. It should fit into everyone's budget.

The Seattle Freeze

Apparently in Seattle, there is a phenomenon called the Seattle freeze where people are nice but they don't really want to make friends. Hrmm, I don't know but I think there is a sort of freeze everywhere, you just don't have enough time to really get to know anyone anymore in the face paced environment called the world.

Film Festivals

If you're interested in film, you still probably would not want to organize a film festival. There is a lot of crap, expenses, and trouble you have to go thru; and of course, you can't guarantee that people will actually show up.

The Secret Behind Google

The secret behind google's search engine algorithm has finally been revealed thanks to the US patent system. Google filed for a patent and had to disclose how they rank some sites higher than others, which is a good read if you are interested in search engine optimization.

Nintendo Symbols from Diagonal Lego

Someone geeky has created a whole bunch of Nintendo images from some sort of cool new interlocking bricks that look a lot like a lego product. It also kind of reminds me of lite brite, but that's probably just a side effect of the blocks.

Abercrombie is All About Image

In a social experiment, two teens dressed up as a goth and a preppy beach girl and headed over to the mall to find jobs. Abercrombie showed the greatest discrimination to people who didn't fit their stereotypes in their hiring process. While it's against the law, I'm sure it happens everywhere and all the time.

14 Days = 3 Days

A study from UPenn has found that if you've only been sleeping between 4 and 6 hours for fourteen straight days, then that's the same as being awake for three straight days. I personally have no experience with this so I can't say one way or another if its true.

Writer's Block

This author has writer's block and has had it for a decade. That's pretty long, but why do we care about some random author's writer's block? Well because he is the guy that writes most of the fortune cookies in America.

Dating an Apple Developer

Wow, all I can say is that this is such an incorrect interpretation of an Apple geek. Well I guess it's not entirely wrong but it's just not me haha

A Problem With Digital Cameras

With digital cameras, you can pick through your photos before developing them, so you only have to develop the best ones. But make sure that your best ones aren't really great because some places may not develop your digital photos because they look too professional. Me? I won't have that problem because I can't take good photos.

Google vs Yahoo

I don't know if you've realized, but over the last few months and years Google has pretty much released the same services that Yahoo offers. Google should really get less geek cred and people should realize that they are in fact like every other major internet service provider.

Crunch Time Bad

Someone has taken it upon themselves to show that crunch time is indeed bad for productivity. I would have thought that this is pretty obvious since crunch time doesn't happen all the time and most people hate the fact that they have to go through crunch time to get stuff done on time.

What FPS teach me

So everything I needed to know about life, I learned from first person shooters? Well not really, but if you're looking for a funny, comedic view on this stuff then check out this short article.

Is Darwin's Theory of Evolution Really True?

Usually when you get down to it, the argument of whether Darwin's Theory of Evolution is true ends up being Darwin vs Creationism. However, a professor in the UK has challenged Darwin's Theory of Evolution using proof by contradiction. While it is in no way proving that Darwin's theory is false, it does raise some interesting questions.

What Not To Do With IM/SMS

So if you're drunk, remember to keep track of your phone otherwise your friends may send funny smses to random people on your address book. Best of all, the receipients may not really appreciate them.

The War Against Cybercrime

Who says there's no war against cybercrime? Well there really isn't a war but some high profile cases are starting to be reported including the FBI takedown of Shadowcrew. It looks like you have to be a big time threat and operating in the States to really attract attention of the authorities.

Nintendo is Super Profitable

This articule speculates that Nintendo will just lay low with its 10% profit margin until the next generation and let PS3 and XBox 360 battle it out. Why bother draining your money resources fighting with the big boys when you can still make money? Seems to be a good point.
